Throughout the course, you\u2019ll develop analytical tasting skills while exploring the use of spirits in cocktails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The knowledge gained on this course will be a significant advantage to anyone working with spirits in both the on- and off-trade, and the course is also perfect for spirits enthusiasts wanting to learn more about the product behind the brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The course will cover:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spirits production methods and how they affect style and quality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The characteristics of the main styles of spirits and liqueurs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The major global spirits brands<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tutored tastings of around <strong>30 spirits and liqueurs<\/strong> (classroom courses only)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to taste and describe spirits using the\u00a0<strong>WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits\u00ae (SAT)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the course you\u2019ll become a more confident spirits taster under the guidance of our expert educators, learning how to use a&nbsp;globally-recognised approach to tasting to analyse the appearance, nose, palate and quality level of a range of styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of the course you\u2019ll be able to identify a how key raw ingredients and production methods influence the style and quality of the key spirits and liqueurs of the world.&nbsp;If you work with spirits,&nbsp;you&#8217;ll be able to&nbsp;confidently provide guidance on the use and service of spirits and make informed recommendations to customers when selecting spirits and liqueurs to meet their taste and price requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assessment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Level 2 Award in Spirits exam consists of <strong>50 multiple-choice questions<\/strong> to be completed in <strong>one hour<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pass marks:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pass<\/strong>: 55% &#8211; 69%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pass with Merit<\/strong>:\u00a070% &#8211; 84%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pass with Distinction:<\/strong>\u00a085% and above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All students who pass the exam will receive a WSET digital certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This qualification is Ofqual regulated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You&#8217;ll receive your results approximately four weeks after the exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I need any prior knowledge?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No prior knowledge is required and you don&#8217;t need to complete any other qualification to enrol. If you are completely new to the world of spirits, you may wish to study the\u00a0<a title=\"WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits\" data-id=\"8541\" href=\"https:\/\/belgradewineschool.com\/en\/courses\/wset-level-1-award-in-spirits\/\">Level 1 Award in Spirits<\/a>\u00a0first, but this is not essential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All our classes are delivered in English therefore a good level of English is beneficial.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must be at least <strong>18 years old<\/strong> to enrol on any of our courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How should I prepare?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This course requires you to undertake a recommended total of 11 hours of private study time.
