{"id":431,"date":"2025-10-12T22:04:42","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T21:04:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/belgradewineschool.com\/en\/?post_type=kursevi&#038;p=431"},"modified":"2025-12-21T16:32:44","modified_gmt":"2025-12-21T15:32:44","slug":"wset-level-1-award-in-spirits","status":"publish","type":"kursevi","link":"https:\/\/belgradewineschool.com\/en\/courses\/wset-level-1-award-in-spirits\/","title":{"rendered":"WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This hands-on course is an ideal starting point for those embarking on a career in spirits or hospitality, or enthusiasts wanting to get to grips with a range of key spirit styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This confidence-boosting spirits course for beginners is the perfect way to gain knowledge of the key styles of distilled beverage found around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a short space of time, you\u2019ll find yourself feeling more confident navigating a drinks list, stocking up your bar, and serving spirits optimally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You also receive a <strong>WSET certificate &#8211; an internationally recognized and valued document<\/strong>, which can open the door for further training and career advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The course will cover:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The basic principles of spirit production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The main types and styles of spirits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Factors affecting the flavour of spirits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tutored tastings of 10 spirits (classroom courses only)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to serve spirits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to describe spirits using the <strong>WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits\u00ae (SAT)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assessment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Level 1 Award in\u00a0Spirits exam consists of\u00a0<strong>30 multiple-choice questions<\/strong>\u00a0to be completed in\u00a0<strong>45 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To pass you\u00a0<strong>must correctly answer 70% of the questions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successful students will receive a\u00a0<strong>WSET digital certificate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This qualification is\u00a0<strong>Ofqual regulated<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You&#8217;ll receive your results approximately four weeks after the exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I need any prior knowledge?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No prior spirits knowledge is required, just enthusiasm! All our classes are delivered in English therefore a good level of English is beneficial.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must be at least 18 years old to enrol on any of our courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How should I prepare?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no need to prepare anything before starting the WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits. However, anyone\u00a0embarking on a WSET course should\u00a0familiarise themselves with the\u00a0qualification specification.
