professional wine world as well as enthusiasts.
Belgrade Wine School is certified WSET Approved Programme Provider and offers you the opportunity to
study Course Level 1 Award in Wines.

Who is it for WSET Level 1 Award in Wines?
• WSET Level 1 Award in Wines provides elementary theoretical knowledge about the products and skills in
the sector of wine services and sales, the ideal preparation for people who want to acquire their first
experience in the hospitality or sales.
• This course is also a good introduction for all wine lovers who want to improve their knowledge through
organized and systematic program aimed for beginners. Training covers the following segments: recognizing
the style of wine, practical storage and wine service, wine and food pairing.
No experience is needed to apply for this course!
Course Contents:
• Wine tasting: wine tasting and description with the WSET® Systematic Approach of Tasting
• Wine and food pairing: a theoretical guide to the elements that affect the proper wine and food matching
• Serving and storing wine: learn what is the optimal way to serve and preserve wines, also how to identify
the most common faults and defects of wine.
• Social responsibility and moderate alcohol consumption.
• The type and style of wine: discern the factors that change the character of a wine.
• Grape varieties, learn the characteristics and styles of the wines produced from the most common grape
varieties.
• The main white grape varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling
• The main black grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah / Shiraz
• White wines: Pinot Grigio, Muscadet, Sancerre, Chablis, Sauternes
• Red wines Claret, Beaujolais, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rioja, Chianti
• The number of wine tasted: 12 wines are part of this course.
• Literature: students receive a Certificate Foundation Study Guide which is in English
• Course duration: 3 courses of 2 hours duration + final exam
• Exam: 30 multiple-choice questions in English that must be answered within 45 min. 70% of good
answers is minimum for the succesful exam. Before the exam, each student must have an identity card or
passport with him.
• Diploma: All students who pass will receive an official certificate from WSET.

Reexamination
Reexamination is possible for students registered at Wset school and who did not passed the test.
Students from other WSET course providers (Apps) can also attend re-examinations in Belgrade Wine School.
These reservations and requests should be addressed directly to the approval of the organizer.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits
Who is the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits for?
• Between beginner and intermediate level qualifications, Level 2 Award in Wines and
Spirits provides an opportunity for those who are already working in the wine industry or
for the enthusiasts looking for knowledge improvement.
For individuals who require a detailed understanding of wine, this course explains the main
grape varieties and the most important wine regions in the world.
You will learn more about the styles of wine produced from the same grape varieties as
well as the key words terminology and the label understanding.
The course also provides an overview of the basic spirits.
No experience is needed to attend this course!
Course Contents:
• How to produce wine
• What factors influence the style of wine
• Key white and black grape varieties and their characteristics
• Significant world’s wine regions in which these are grown grape varieties
• Production of sparkling, sweet and fortified wines
• Label Terminology
• Principles of wine and food pairing
• The main categories of spirits, their production
• How to describe the wine using the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits Systematic
Approach of Tasting® (SAT)
Organization of the course:
For this course 12 hours of private learning is highly recommended..
A total of 16 hours of active lectures is provided, divided into six classes of three hours
each with the exam included.
Exam: 50 multiple-choice questions in English that must be answered within 60 min. 55%
of correct answers is the lower limit in order to pass the examination.
Before the exam, each student must have an identity card or passport with him.
The tests that make up the final exam are assessed in London by the WSET Board
Examination.
All students who pass will receive an official certificate from the WSET.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits
WSET level 3 award in Wines
An advanced level qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and for wine enthusiasts.
For individuals seeking to delve deeper into the world of wines, this qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and wine making. Upon completion you will be able to assess wines accurately, and use your understanding to confidently explain wine style and quality. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.
What you’ll learn:
Unit 1
The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling.
How these key factors influence the key characteristics of the principal still wines of the world sparkling wines of the world fortified wines of the world.
How to apply your understanding to explain wine style and quality.
Unit 2
How to taste wines, describe their characteristics and evaluate their quality, using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
Course delivery
This qualification has a minimum requirement of 84 hours of study time, including 30 hours of classroom or online delivery time with a WSET course provider.*
Assessment
Unit 1 is assessed by a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions and a short-written answer paper. Unit 2 is assessed by a blind tasting of two wines. A mark of 55% is required in both parts to pass.
Entry requirements
It is recommended that you hold the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits or can demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge. You must be of legal drinking age in the country where you are attending the course and exam to participate in any alcohol tasting. However, this is not a barrier to successfully completing Unit 1.
